MLPD is Looking for a New Treasurer

The Manitoba League of Persons with Disabilities (MLPD) is a provincial not-for-profit organization that promotes accessibility and inclusion for people of all abilities. We are a group of experienced, diverse, influential and engaging staff and volunteers who educate and offer expert advice in a wide range of topics and issues relating to accessibility.

MLPD is seeking out an experienced volunteer treasurer to become a valuable asset to our team. As our treasurer, you will be supporting our Executive Director in overseeing and managing our financial accounts, ensuring accurate recording and reporting of all financial transactions, supporting the annual audit process, and providing financial reports to our Council.

The perfect candidate for this role will have an extensive background in finance or accounting, with a proven track record in managing financial statements, budgets, and other financial documents. Furthermore, they should feel comfortable working as part of a team and possess excellent communication and organizational skills.

Duties:

  • Supervising all financial accounts and transactions
  • Ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Supporting the development and maintenance of budgets
  • Providing financial reports to the board of directors

Requirements:

  •  3-5 years of experience in finance or accounting
  •  Strong communication and organizational skills
  •  Ability to work independently and as part of a team
